What is a credit?
Credits pay for AI on our connection: agent runs and AI audio. Each run is billed at its real model cost, so a scoped edit on Claude Sonnet 5.5 is around 15 credits and a complete ~30 s film around 75 (longer videos scale with what the agent builds). On Claude Opus 5.5 it's around 150. You see the estimate before you send and the meter while it runs.
How long can my videos be?
As long as you need. There's no cap on editing. Make promos, product demos, explainers, tutorials, course content or a social series. Free exports render on your device up to 2 minutes. Creator and Studio export any length on your device and render in the cloud up to 10 and 30 minutes per video.
Where do my videos render?
On your device by default. It's free, private and fast for most films. Keep the tab open while it renders. Creator and Studio can also render in the cloud: close the tab, come back to a download link. Cloud renders use monthly minutes (120 on Creator, 600 on Studio) and are kept 7 or 30 days.
Can I take my film into After Effects or Premiere Pro?
Yes, on Creator and Studio. The After Effects package rebuilds your film as an editable project: a comp per scene with native text, shapes and images keyed like the studio, effects as transparent PNG sequences, and the sound mix. You can add ProRes 4444 or PNG footage with alpha, scene clips and audio stems. For Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut you get a ready-made timeline (XML / FCPXML) with scene clips and stems.
Which export formats are there?
Everyone: MP4 (rendered on your device), PNG stills, the sound mix as WAV, a standalone animated web page and the editable project file. Creator and Studio add 4K, no watermark, cloud rendering, ProRes 4444 with transparency, PNG sequences, GIF, audio stems, and After Effects / Premiere / Resolve / Final Cut packages.
What if a run fails?
You're not charged. If the agent can't deliver a film because of an error on our side or the model provider's, the run costs 0 credits. With several versions, you pay only for the versions that were delivered. Stopping a run yourself charges what it used up to that point.
Can I use my own API key?
Yes. Connect an Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (the key you use with Codex) or OpenRouter key in the studio and runs cost no credits, on any plan. Cursor doesn't issue keys for other apps, so use the Anthropic or OpenAI key you configured there.
Do unused credits roll over?
Monthly plan credits refresh each month. Top-up credits never expire and are used after your plan credits.
Which gallery films are included?
Free includes the free gallery films, and Creator and Studio include all of them. You can edit every scene, layer, keyframe, camera move and sound in any film.
Is editing free?
Always. The studio, timeline, built-in music and sound effects and rendering never use credits. Credits are only for AI. Free exports carry a small 'made with motionpro' mark.
Can my coding agent use my plan?
Yes. Connect Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Antigravity or any MCP client. It signs in to your account and runs the motion agent on your credits, or renders on your own machine with the motionpro CLI.
